NEW ORLEANS, June 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Following Pastor Rick Warren's appeal from the floor of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Annual Meeting in New Orleans yesterday, shortly after the results of the vote were announced this morning he gave his response and fielded questions from credentialed press at a 75-minute Media Availability, that resembled a "Master Class" in SBC history, polity and hermeneutics.
The Southern Baptist Convention has voted to enforce a doctrine for male-only pastors, rejecting an impassioned appeal from the Rev. Rick Warren to reinstate his megachurch, which an SBC governing panel expelled in February for employing a female “teaching pastor.”
